Trout lilies (Erythronium\namericanum<\/em>, Sm.) are a colony-forming ephemeral flower dwelling in woodland\nhabitats all across North America. The gray-green leaves mottled with brown and\ngray litter the forest floor almost as prominently as the decomposing canopy from\nFall.
